i want to buy and iphone and unlock it myslef but i dont know where to start and if im capable of doing it. it cost almost 600 to buy one unlocked already and i dont want the phone for that much. any help would be appreciated thanks. (also having the phone unlocked does that mean that it could work on tmobile) and one last thing what features work and do not work on the Unlocked iPhone for tmobile… thankss in advance.

you can not unlock this phone on your own, unless you have the software which is going to cost you. Not an easy task, if you try with the software and mess up it will seriously mess up the iphone. Delicate technology.

I have a phone and I am currently trying to decide whether I should trade for an iphone or not. Its an unlocked 2nd Gen iphone. Is there any downfalls to using a Unlocked iPhone? I heard that you will not be able to update software and such. Is there anything that I should know before making the trade?

Yeah if you update the software it will lock the iPhone again. Also when you have an unlocked iPhone it will void the warranty so if there are any hardware defects or software defects that render the phone useless, you have to buy a new computer.

I have an iphone 3g and I want to enable tethering. I have iPhone OS 3.1.3. I have tried everything. I DO NOT WANT TO JAILBREAK. I want tethering on my iPhone 3G OS 3.1.3 without jailbreaking. Is there any way? I have searched almost every website and I can not find anything except jailbreaking.

The only way to enable tethering is to jailbreak it. Maybe in a future OS you can do it without the need to jailbreak, but currently there’s no way. Sorry!

Hi, I just got an iphone, and, for example, when you are adding contacts, when you choose what kind of phone the contact uses, there is the option cell phone or iphone. Does this mean that some people have both?
What would be the point of having both if they do?

Lol. I think that just means if they have an iPhone, yours will connect to theirs for apps and other things where you can have friends, play multiplayer, and so forth.

I have an Unlocked iPhone 3Gs with tmobile, and there are apps out there that require the newer software. Do i need to unlock it again once i update the software? If so, is it harder to unlock or the same compare to the older software. (i have 3.0 version)

you can only get internet if you have a wifi connections the voicemail visual doesnt work,its not 3g other then that its the same

I have a iphone 3gs. I was jailbroken with blackra1n. Something went wrong with my phone and I had to update the os. I did not have my cydia in SHSH hash. The firmware is 05.12.01. I know they say that we can jailbreak it if we have an old bootrom. How do you check it to see which bootrom your phone has? My iphone Model # starts with MB. I know they say you cannot jailbreak it if it starts with MC. Will my iphone jailbreak with blackra1n now? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
